The Arts and Sports Center integrates resources from physical education, fine arts, and music to establish a comprehensive arts and sports education platform, offering students a well-rounded and diverse curriculum in these fields. Through a structured system comprising foundational, exploratory, and personalized courses, the center focuses on cultivating students’ physical literacy, artistic accomplishment, aesthetic appreciation, and innovative practical abilities, thereby empowering their holistic development across moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education.
Physical education courses are designed to build students’ physical fitness, sports skills and sportsmanship.
Art courses help students develop expressive skills and aesthetic competence through artistic creation and appreciation.
Beyond core courses, all students take featured courses including football, swimming, physical training, drama and creative design. A range of group activities such as class fun sports meets, choral performances and dance shows are held for the whole school. These activities not only improve students’ artistic and athletic abilities, but also foster teamwork and collaboration skills.
**Physical Education**: Football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, baseball, golf, rugby, taekwondo, street dance, dragon and lion dance, martial arts, etc.
**Arts**: Animation, sketching, seal carving, creative colouring, creative design, handcraft, fashion design, chorus, drama, dance and various musical instruments.
Dozens of elective courses are available for students. They highlight the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture and integration of diverse cultures, and are well received among students.
Art exhibitions, campus singer contests, instrumental music competitions and individual sports events serve as platforms for students to explore their individuality.
To meet diverse development needs, the school offers long-term professional art and sports courses, opening up multiple pathways for further study.
- For fine arts track: Our students have achieved the top score in the provincial college entrance examination. A total of 522 graduates have been admitted to top art academies including the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University and the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
- For music track: The undergraduate admission rate reaches 100%. Nearly 200 students have enrolled in prestigious institutions such as Berklee College of Music and the Central Conservatory of Music.
- For sports track: We have cultivated 12 National Elite Athletes, and over 50 students have been admitted to professional sports colleges.
Dance and choral performances by the school art troupe have been presented on CCTV six times, and repeatedly won First Prize in national, provincial and municipal student art festivals.
Our Fine Arts Department was accredited as a **Fujian Basic Education Teaching & Research Base School** in 2015 (only 5 such schools across the province). Many students have won awards in national, provincial and municipal painting and calligraphy competitions.
In sports, Teacher Lin Ye is a national-level referee for dragon and lion dance, and has claimed two National First Prizes in Tai Chi. Numerous students have achieved outstanding results at national, provincial and municipal levels in rugby, table tennis, car model competition, ballroom dance and other events.
